[So, you're in your own world, going about your day. Things are normal, or as normal as they ever get.
Except suddenly, a hole in the air opens up, wherever you may be, and what looks to be a giant flying sea serpent monster comes... well, flying out. It's roaring and looking like it's about to start smashing everything, except a catgirl in armor leaps out the hole after it, before finally planting a sword in the monster's head, sending both of them crashing to the ground, with probably only minor collatoral damage. Probably.
The woman stands up after confirming the monster's death, pulls her sword out, and looks around.]
... Where is this now?

[normal day in Johto, honestly]
. . . hey!
[says the boy currently sitting on the back of a Tylphosion. HE LOOKS INDIGNANT]
Why're you doin', killin' that thing!?
no subject
A child...? I could ask you the same.
[why are you so chill with a monster???]
no subject
I ain't no child, lady! And you can't ask me the same 'cause I'm not goin' around killin' Pokemon.
no subject
[YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY A CHILD]
no subject
Explotaro wouldn't hurt a fly, and I sure as heck ain't gonna let you hurt him. What's your problem? All this unnecessary aggression. . .
no subject
"Explotaro"?
no subject
That's his name. And I don't get why ya think it is necessary.
no subject
And you do not see why it is necessary.
[JUDGING YOU, CHILD.]
no subject
He's named after explosions 'cause he does explode. He's a fire-type; that's his whole. . .
[gestures. with his free hand]

V'nohtra is sitting on a rock juuuust far enough away that the crash landing didn't send her flying, just a ton of snow in her face thanks to Coerthas' everything. ]
This would be Coerthas, and nicely done.
[ her ears flick to shake the snow from them and what the fuck is she wearing in this frigid ass weather? ]
no subject
... I see. I have never heard that name before. Can you tell me more?
[she sort of ignores the compliment because what does she do with it?]
no subject
the question gives her pause; she can feel the
crossover eventshenanigans in her bones. ]Coerthas is the name of the land that surrounds Ishgard, the nearest city-state. I imagine that means nothing to you either?
[ she finally stands, coat blowing in the wind. ]
no subject
It does not. I am from Chetes.
... Are you not cold?
no subject
[ she'll have to check with Urianger - surely he would know where it is, if it's even in this world in the first place. in fact, she's about to suggest relocating somewhere not in the middle of blowing snow to speak when Neferti speaks again. V'nohtra looks down at herself for a moment and then looks back up, half shrugging. ]
Er... Not particularly? I've grown accustomed to the weather here.
no subject
[well. okay then. she wipes the blood from her sword off on the monster's own scales before sheathing her sword.]
I am Neferti, a knight of Chetes. May I ask your name?
no subject
[ she inclines her head, eyes straying from Neferti to something behind her. even in this weather, the scent of fresh blood is bound to draw in hungry beasts, and she can see them starting to make their approach. ]
If you would be willing to follow me, I believe we ought to save further discussion for a safer location.
no subject
... Is that wise? I... know not what manner of monsters those are, but I will dispatch them before they may hurt others.

All calm and uneventful, right up until a (now dead) serpent and (not so dead) catgirl come crashing into the stony streetway. ]
— Gaaaah!! ... Wh- what... what is that?!
[ Dust and rubble picks up too much to get a clear image of the scene; startled, Maka cautiously backs off, not coming close just yet. ]
no subject
cleo wipes her sword off on the monster's scales before sheathing it, and...]
... Angel. It has been some time.
[she retains her gift for understatement.]
no subject
A response comes belatedly, as the dust finally settles: ]
... ... Cleo? No way. This can't be real.
no subject
[SHE REALLY WANTS TO HUG YOU
BUT ALSO, AWKWARD AS HELL]
no subject
Unfortunately, the shock hasn't quite worn off; Maka makes frantic glances between the giant, dead creature, Neferti, and back over her shoulder.
Then, suddenly— ]
Quick, come with me!
[ Maka darts forward, grips at her wrist (the free one, sorry she isn't giving a chance to sheath the sword), and tugs at her toward the other direction. ]
no subject
Is something wrong? Should we not be disposing of the monster's body?
no subject
[ WHY ARE YOU SO CALM ABOUT THIS!!
Maka's still latching on, moving on to a jog, darting into an alleyway off the street. ]
I've gotta—I'll figure something out first! Hopefully no one else saw that...
no subject
[She just seems very confused, but she's following Maka's lead.]
... I realize this is unusual, nor was coming here my intent. But even so, I am glad to see you again.
