[So, you're in your own world, going about your day. Things are normal, or as normal as they ever get.
Except suddenly, a hole in the air opens up, wherever you may be, and what looks to be a giant flying sea serpent monster comes... well, flying out. It's roaring and looking like it's about to start smashing everything, except a catgirl in armor leaps out the hole after it, before finally planting a sword in the monster's head, sending both of them crashing to the ground, with probably only minor collatoral damage. Probably.
The woman stands up after confirming the monster's death, pulls her sword out, and looks around.]
... Where is this now?

And you do not see why it is necessary.
[JUDGING YOU, CHILD.]

He's named after explosions 'cause he does explode. He's a fire-type; that's his whole. . .
[gestures. with his free hand]
Thing!

[SO INDIGNANT AT BEING CALLED A CHILD]

What rock were you livin' under to not know what a trainer is?
[nevertheless, he explains]
It's a person who trains these guys-- [gestures again at the Tyhplosion] To fight 'n stuff.
Pokemon are friends and partners, not enemies or monsters to fight 'n be killed. It's insane that anyone out there might think otherwise.
no subject
You train them to fight, but they are not monsters to fight?
no subject
They fight each other, but not us. And no one dies in those fights!

[frustrated and angered that she might think otherwise]
That's just cruel.

[SHE'S GONNA SMACK YOU]

[gestures above his head as though indicating her ears]
And it wasn't an insult, I just don't know you're name.
no subject
My name is Neferti, knight of Chetes.
no subject
Oh. Hehehe, yeah, that one was an insult.
[at least he's owning up to it]
Name's Gold, savior of Johto, twice over! And as long as I'm here, I'm not gonna let ya hurt another Pokemon.
no subject
[yeah.]

[this conversation is going nowhere. although Gold has finally let his guard down, at least, and he's moved to stand next to Explotaro so he can pat the Typholosion's neck in an attempt to calm him down]
It's where ya are right now, duh. Man, I don't get you, Meowth gal. You go around killin' Pokemon and ya act like ya don't know what they are or where you are. What's up with that?
no subject
[SHE'S NOT A MEOWTH, GOSH.]
The monster I have slain is a creature of the ocean. If it was not killed, it would have killed many people. But in the middle of the fight, it seems I was sent here somehow...
[She glances around, and she looks unsettled by the scenery.]
