It's been a while, and I have a new character, so question meme for Cleo and Paru. If you want to ask about Tsukasa or Rider in CFUD, that is also valid.
NOT THAT HE WILL EVER ADMIT IT but so much and the Fourze cast existing is actually making it a bit worse because he's seeing Gentarou and his BEFRIEND EVERYONE like a huge dumb puppy and it's making him think of PROTECT ALL THE SMILES and he gets sad. :(
I ALMOST SAID CELESTE BECAUSE YUUSUKE IS A JESUS but then I realized that he would become a kicked puppy so fast.
So, uh, maybe Sage or Lilac or Teal because at least his emotional terrorism would actually work okay on those teams and not backfire into making him a kicked puppy.
... i don't know, he's such a mary sue i think he might end up as a portrait somehow, dude be nuts.
He'd be a good Cardinal, I think, on virtue of superhero, but I also want to say Shell just to give them heart attacks with his hair (and also pink). DECISIONS ARE HARD.
'S'ALL GOOD YOU NEEDED A TERRIBLE PERSON RIGHT? Right now she's somewhere between irritated and extremely confused, though on an individual level she likes Apple the best out of the team! Which. Has her pretty surprised, too.
To be more detailed on Sage as a whole, she is halfway really glad she ended up on a team of good people, because if she had ended up with Celeste, for example, she would have been terrified. So she's not scared of Sage (except for minor fear of ELLIOT SCREAMING) and she is pretty sure she can trust them not to screw her over!
On the other hand, she is also rather worried by the 'no hurting anyone ever' thing, because while good, she worries that it makes them easy targets, and she does not want to fight, so she is worried that she is on Team Sitting Duck. So while she's not worried about her own team, she's a bit wary of other teams now since she isn't sure Sage can keep her safe.
With the individuals, Shirayuki agreeing to help her with clothes got her major brownie points, and while she still dislikes Kuroko over the horseradish thing, he's not screaming like Elliot, so she's more okay with him. She hasn't spoken to Kaito or Ginger as much as the others, but her opinions on them basically boil down to 'Kaito seems like Professor Layton if he was a shonen anime' and 'Ginger is agreeable about how much this place sucks'. And Elliot is bottom-tier on principle of being loud and dumb.
Sheeee started off with a really bad impression of Paru :'D I forget the specifics but everything she said ended up rubbing Shirayuki the wrong way and by the time she tried to pick Poison Ivy as her nickname she was like NOPE. And that will sadly have a lasting effect for a while. But she can still be polite and she doesn't want Ivy to feel unwelcome so she can still be surface level polite to Ivy until her emotions settle down. Part of that is helping her with things she needs, hence helping with clothes! There are things that prickle her about Ivy, like when she complains it makes her bristle a bit. And then the fact that she...apparently lied to Elliot, which she kind of gets but still doesn't approve of. Overall she's ended up with a fairly neutral impression? Her big thing is making sure they never hurt anyone in game, so as long as Ivy doesn't go against that, she's solid!
...questions are hard UHM anything about Paru's backstory that strikes you as interesting/relevant information??? ...idk tell me things.
She has some pretty severe trust issues thanks to backstory, which is pretty much a huge factor into how she acted to the rest of Sage when she showed up! She especially has trouble with men for that, so Shirayuki has the best chances out of Sage for trust.
Her main story in her own verse was that she wanted to become an actress! And she was really good at it, but unfortunately, it turned out she also was an esper, and her power manifested in the form of a psychokinetic shield around her (hence the username). Also unfortunately, magic is real in this verse too, but hidden, and magicians tend to see espers as human Cthulus. So mages started trying to kill her, then she joined up with another group of espers, things started to look good for her again, then when she was starting to try to get a job in acting again, she got killed by a supermage shooting her building full of a billion lightning bolts from like a mile away.
The relevant part here is basically that the lesson she has taken from all of this is "do not stand out, or if you're going to stand out, do so in a mundane way". So she really, really doesn't want to talk about her own business, because frankly, her own business has gotten her killed twice (this is her third game, for the record). So she grabbed on the memory loss thing as an easy way to just avoid having to talk about her own stuff, and also because it seemed more common! Two birds with one stone. She just didn't think it through well enough since her skill at lying is gone.
Also, if anyone in Sage turns out to be a magician she will be pretty terrified.
SO PIMP YOUR CANON TO ME I have actually meant to read it for some time but never gotten around to it. :|a
Oh man it's like midnight I can't even coherently describe all my feels but THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER COMMENT TO SAY YOU CAN READ IT HERE for all the scanlated chapters and I will make a ridiculously long ramble in the morning but IN THE MEANTIME YOU SHOULD READ IT which is not helpful because it starts out slow but you know what maybe you should wait until after I pimp it to read it but HERE IS THE LINK ANYWAYS
Okay so MY CANON I LOVE MY CANON it's not like I don't destroy my fishbowl with plurks about it every week. I am terrible at pimping though so you'll have to bear with me.
Akagami no Shirayukihime (aka The Red-Haired Snow White) starts off as a cute fairytale manga with snow white references all through the first chapter. And really the first chapter seems like a one-shot because the mangaka mainly did one-shots before this series so she was slowly easing into it at the time. If I was going to point out a flaw I would say it’s that the pacing is slow starting off because of that, and because it started as a bi-monthly manga so the chapters tended to read as long one-shots of the same characters. But by the time you hit chapter 3 or 4 it improves dramatically! The art style starts out cute and moves to gorgeous and only continues to improve over time. Akizuki Sorata (the mangaka) is the best at creating beautiful scenery, clothes, and characters; her attention to detail never ceases to amaze me, and the way she structures every page so that you get to just the right moment in the chapter and hit ALL THE FEELINGS is my personal favorite. She takes out all of that terrible teenage drama you typically find in shoujo manga; there’s drama, but it’s (in my opinion) far more realistic and has to do with physical danger or realistic social status issues, and they aren’t overblown issues. Even better, the characters are realistic in their reactions; if there’s a problem they try to be rational in finding a solution, but they have relatable flaws that make it a struggle to overcome some of those problems. The ladies are amazingly badass—not necessarily in a shounen spirit kind of way, but they’re not pushovers in the least. Shirayuki is determined to find her own path in life and she and Zen support each other instead of being a terribly clingy shoujo couple. The Head Pharmacist is a FLAWLESS TROLL and she is pretty much a super genius when it comes to medicine, Kiki is a kickass snarky (if quiet) lady knight, and even the minor female characters have a lot of agency. All of the main characters love and support one another and they are basically all platonically married. OBI HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS really everyone should read it just to watch Obi have horrible feelings all over everything, he doesn’t know how to deal with people caring about him. There are plenty of hilarious moments that make me smile and laugh throughout the series, and the minor characters are given enough weight that I can always cross my fingers and hope they’ll come back later for more development. Overall I just love it because it’s adorable, cheerful, enjoyable, and the best way to describe it is heartwarming.
All the scanlated chapters are still here because I am helpful; it’s up to chapter 38, and the mangafox forums have rough translations and RAWS up to 42 which is the latest chapter. I do recommend trying to read as many chapters as you can from Omari's Sister because they didn't want the chapters they scanlated up on mangafox/mangahere/etc but they were put up anyways without their permission :( But I also understand laziness and convenience so I usually link mangahere. SOTU for Cleo?
hahaha Cleo is in a weird place. She has no idea how to cope with anything. She's been basically putting everything out of mind by starting to frame everything around her goal of BEING A KNIGHT and PROTECTING PEOPLE!!! So she doesn't actually have to deal with her problems that way, because she has no idea how. Emotions are hard!
And then... the game with the boxes happened and Trucy got chopped up, Maya and Jeanette got drilled and burned, and Cleo was left... completely unhurt, with no choice in the matter. And she had earlier thought to destroy a key in that game to protect the other two. So now she has completely and totally failed her 'protect people' goal in the worst possible way! She is basically trying to think about everything else that is not that, because she is seriously fucked up about it. She's... not really healthy like that.
Basically Cleo's biggest problem is she has no idea how to deal with emotions. Negative or positive! She is far more comfortable doing business and talking about fighting and solving the mystery of the gallery than, for example, just talking about nothing or going YES WE ARE FRIENDS I LIKE YOU PERSON. And while she has no idea how to emotion or how to people, all of her emotion and people buttons are just getting mashed nonstop. And now her hope of MAYBE IF I JUST ACT LIKE I'M A PERFECT KNIGHT WHO WILL PROTECT EVERYONE I WILL REALLY BECOME ONE has just been smashed apart. So now she's throwing herself at the mystery of the gallery with Sophie, and everyone else's problems.
... basically she really just kind of needs a hug or twenty. This is the first time she has not taken a memory immediately.
So if Shirayuki hadn't been on Sage, what other teams would do think she would be good on?
god I don't know. I don't think she'd do too badly on any team other than Celeste, who she may have ended up straight-up murdering. Other than them, she would likely do well on a pacifist team like Sage, though she would turn into the MUST PROTECT knight and possibly hurt people for them. Teal might work well too. Basically the idealist good people teams!
So, say Shirayuki got turned into a portrait somehow. What kind of games would she run? (obviously not trauma but. supply or memory, what would they entail, etc)
Oh my god they would be so dumb like, HERE GUYS WE'RE HAVING A PARTY BECAUSE IT'S FUN yes this counts as a game hush AND NOW WE ARE GOING TO CATEGORIZE ALL OF THESE FLOWERS AND PLANTS. AND EVERYONE GETS SEEDS FOR PLANTING. TODAY WE ARE GOING TO MAKE MEDICINES!! Also you have homework make sure you read all 5000 pages of that book by next week so we can go over the best way to cure an illness. By the way did you see these plants, look at this tree, they can grow food for you and you can make tea and medicines with them AREN'T PLANTS THE COOLEST ///// she would be a travesty and maybe 1 in 10 games would actually be competitive so they would mostly be the coolest supply games ever. Everyone would walk away from them knowing first aid, I count this as a win.
Do you have any songcalls for Cleo/Paru/Deco??? Or songs that make you think of them :|a
Well, I tend to use my vocaloid and Radwimps folders when I'm playing Paru, because it's usually bubbly and cheerful enough, or silly love songs, but occasionally it throws in songs like oshakashama (warning; absolutely crazy video).
Cleo usually gets my battle music folder! Masaaki Endoh goes here, and Otherworld from FFX. On the other hand, she also gets some of World Order (2012 is a good one but, again, crazy video)
... though it's moot right now because I've been just playing World Order's entire discography on loop for the past while regardless of anything.
REVERSE what music do you have for Shirayuki? I need new things to listen to.
So Cleo thinks Coco is a good person, and also apparently a fighter, which is cool, because good people who fight are pretty much uniformly awesome as far as Cleo is concerned. She doesn't know her too well, but she seems pretty smart, too, and considering it was talking to her that Cleo had the 'wait what the fuck is up with Sophie' realization, she's thinking Coco is a very good person to talk to! At this precise moment, she's a little :? about the 'no magic' thing, though, since in her world, almost everyone can do magic. So, would like to talk to more and get to know better.
Also, as a note, with the lack of actual explanation, Cleo's ended up with the assumption that Coco fights the pumpkins just to keep things safer, so there's some \o/ YES GOOD points there.
Cleo doesn't have much of an opinion on Knives, but she is a good and strong child! ... but the 'child' part preempts the rest so she Knives is firmly in Cleo's MUST PROTECT category just on that. you are banned from danger!
OTHER THAN THAT she does not have much opinion yet! But Knives being with her group in the Cinderella has cemented her in Cleo's mind as someone who is firmly in the 'not allowed to die ever' territory, up there with her own teammates.
Knives likes Cleo a lot and is really thankful that the Lilac girls let her hang out with them during the Cinderella thing, so as far as she's concerned Lilac is awesome and she owes them. Cleo seems interesting, but kind of serious business, so Knives will try to act more serious around her. Overall, though, she thinks Cleo is nice and seems pretty cool!
Cleo actually likes Angel a lot! Neither of them are exactly the talkative type, but Angel is smart, capable, and Cleo respects her a lot. The fact that Maka wants to get stronger, and is apparently a fighter of some sort, has her impressed! Other than Rize, it is her that Cleo trusts most to be able to take care of herself.
Also, the fact that Angel is pretty smart has Cleo wanting to ask about all the shit she doesn't know, but how does I talk to people about things that aren't business D:

What would Tsukasa do if Yuusuke ever showed back up in Camp?
