Memory: Positive Significant - Achieving rank of Squire
Regained: Day 19, When The Clock Struck Twelve (Cinderella Clusterfuck)
Form: Envelope, one-use.
Contents: Neferti, now in her early teens, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with a row of her peers. They are mostly human, though a couple of the other races are represented, and every one of them is in a crisp, military-styled uniform. She is also the youngest of the lot.
An older figure in heavy armor stands in front of them. Congratulations, he tells them. They are all now squires of the city. They would serve the people, wield force when necessary, and act always with the dignity of their station. The speech he gave was long, speaking of the nobility of the squire; for while the knights fought monsters, squires worked tirelessly without reward in the shadows. A squire should aim to become a knight themselves, it was said, but never forget that the knight's shining glory is made possible only by the overshadowed squires supporting them. While knights battle, squires ensure the safety of the people. When knights give chase, squires help coordinate information and searches. Most importantly, squires provide whatever support the knights require.
Neferti hangs on to every word with rapt attention. She does not intend to remain a squire for long at all, but regardless, this is a monumental occasion for her; she has taken the first step towards becoming a Magic Knight like her grandfather.
When the ceremony ended, she races outside to find him, standing tall and proud. He leans on a cane heavily, but reaches out his arms to hug her tightly as she approaches. This is the proudest he has felt in his life, he tells her.
Though she tries to restrain it, to keep with the dignity of her new station, she feels her good eye begin to tear up in joy.
Effects: Not much she didn't know, but she gains +a fuckton in grandpadere, and a lot more thoughts and feelings on HONOR and what honor can be obtained in any station, etc. Nothing terribly new, just more motivation.
