(no subject)

The world warps around the man with a serene smile. It isn't simply that he twists it- His mere presence distorts it, because there's so much weight to him, though not physically of course. His very existence is like a heavy ball of metal on a thin fabric. The world around him is nothing more than water for him to move through as he wills- Of course it is, for water is his very nature. He is the god of the Ocean, whose name must never be spoken. He is the demon parents warn their children of at night. It is he who may only be spoken of in hushed whispers, lest his attention find you. And it is he who created this world, all that lives, and...

He feels no anger to it. He is simply a child who has grown bored with his toy.

The words of the goddess of justice resound through her head. Their world- The lives of all who ever existed there- were to be unmade, simply because he grew bored with this world. The gods, through their deceptions and actions, had kept this at bay, but now they were powerless. All that remains, all that stood between this world and oblivion is... herself.

Not just herself, she tells herself. She grips the sword in her hand, made of purest shining crystal. The sword of justice and order, Her symbol, reforged by the god of war, her eye fixed by the god of magic and chaos... But that is only three. What of the fourth?

Wind picks up around her feet and she grins without mirth. Mahvata was ever fickle. Fortune would side with her if she pleased.

She channels power from her eye, through the sword. Chaos and order mingle, protecting her from the presence of the god. However, that she was not immediately unmade by his will scarcely registers to him, his eyebrows barely twitched. But that twitch is something she had to take advantage of, she knows- if she lets him make the first move, she will be killed instantly. The sword of Order will render him unable to defend himself with his godly powers, but whether that will be enough to fight him... depends entirely on her skill.

She leaps forward, thrusting her sword at his head. Yet as she moves, he is no longer there- With a serene smile, he had moved away so fast she hadn't seen him move. Momentum carries her forward, but from her tail she casts lightning at him, yet he does not move- at his will the lightning arcs away from him to strike the steel ground. She spins around, calling down the mightiest of ice, yet he walks out of the center of a tremendous glacier as though it was still liquid. She charges in, this time swinging in a wide arc, which he again steps out of the way of. This time, as her sword passes him, she channels lightning through the crystal to strike him... yet the blow is weak, and the damage was undone almost immediately.

As the world twists around them, time loses all meaning. Neferti's mind blanks, focusing on nothing more than the battle, everything that is not her enemy fading into a dull white. Whether her fight was mere seconds or many years without rest, she does not know- As reality breaks down, who was to say there is a difference between them? She throws spells beyond her capabilities, her eye providing power beyond her wildest imaginings, fields of ice and hail of spikes, storms enough to level cities, and yet her enemy seems to pass through them all, scarcely ruffling his clothes. His counterattacks push her to the brink of death; without movement, she is lacerated, burned, drowned, flayed, and worse, yet after each she heals herself immediately with her eye's magic.

She crouches low, and a halo of lightning shapes itself into a ring of swords around her, flinging themselves at him. Yet he is simply no longer there, and her swords sail through the empty air. The two seem locked in a stalemate- He is unable to overcome her ability to heal herself, but she is unable to land a decisive blow.

Their fight continues.

OOC notes:

The ocean god's appearance looks mostly human. He has long, black hair, and black, human eyes. He also has cat ears, thick horns like a dragon's, clawed fingers, feathered wings on his back, and most notably, no voice whatsoever- When his mouth opens, all that can be heard is ocean noises.

As the memory plays in third-person, as well, Neferti as she is can be seen- She's got fur up to her shoulders and thighs, with her hands and feet being large, clawed things. She has one human blue eye and one yellow cat's eye. She has fangs. Her armor, though it breaks off as the fight goes on, is fitted rather well, despite her inhuman nature.
